Environmental Policy

It is our policy to provide our products and services within an environmentally sound framework.

To ensure this is achieved consistently and efficiently, we operate an Environmental Management System, which meets the requirements of ISO 14001:2015 and complies with relevant legislation and regulations.

Science-Based Targets initiative

· Our Carbon reduction targets have been recognised and approved by SBTi. We publicly commit to reducing our carbon footprint in line with the targets set in the Paris Climate Agreement. We commit to reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030 and to reduce Scope 3 emissions by 90% by 2050.

Environmental Advocacy

· Human-induced climate change is already affecting many weather and climate extremes in every region across the globe. We have limited time for action, and we all have a crucial role to play – every sector in every market must transform. We advocate for the environment, educating our customers on the most sustainable services and production methods we offer. We cease to offer products where more environmentally friendly alternatives are available. Use our position and influence within the Independent Publishers Guild and the International Printers Network to share our experience and best practices with industry colleagues and customers.

· Continually strive to improve our Environmental Management System, protecting the environment and preventing pollution.

· Set and monitor environmental objectives and targets, which are available on request.

· Reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible and balance any impact by carbon offsetting the operations of the business that cannot be avoided through the Accredited World Land Trust Scheme.

· Continue to work with our suppliers to encourage them to reduce their impact on the environment.

· Assess production, use and disposal associated with the main goods and processes we use to reduce waste and the consumption of resources (materials, fuel and energy), and to ensure unavoidable waste is recycled, reused or recovered where possible, or disposed of responsibly.

· Inform our customers of the key issues involved in procurement so they can make informed purchases to reduce their impact on the environment.

· Continue to propose and make available options for clients to have the choice to select specifications that reduce the impact of their products on the environment.

· Make available the opportunity for our customers to carbon balance the carbon produced in the manufacture of papers used for their publications.

· Ensure that paper products and packaging materials used come from forests independently certified as well-managed according to the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), or from recycled materials.

· Foster a sense of responsibility for the environment amongst our staff and ensure they act in accordance with this policy.
